Description:Safflower is the dried flower of the Carthamustinctorious. It has a shiny, oval spiny-edged alternate leaves, ending in a sharp spiny point. It is yellow at the base to orange-red at the trims. Shelf life up to one year.
Uses:Food coloring. Sometimes used as a substitute for saffron.
