A
brown, dried flower but of an evergreen tree in the myrtle family.
If the buds open on the tree they cannot be used as a spice.
It takes from 4000 to 7000 dried Clove buds to make a pound
of spice. Cloves are strong pungent and sweet.
                                                                         
USES:
Cookies, Cakes, Cigarettes studding ham and pork and in
pickling fruits. Cloves enhance sweet vegetables.
